Can you get a porta potty anywhere in Davidson County today?

Most of Davidson County can get a unit the same day. Call (615) 237-6088 by noon and we load at our yard at 105 Murphy Ct. From there the interstates fan out to Antioch, Madison, Bellevue and Hermitage. Book by 5:00 PM and most addresses get next-day delivery.

The county covers 526 square miles. That runs from rural Joelton ridges to tight lots in Edgefield. We ask about gates, slopes and street parking before the truck rolls.

Permits are the tricky part. Metro Nashville handles most of the county, but Belle Meade, Berry Hill, Forest Hills, Oak Hill, Goodlettsville and Ridgetop keep their own rules.

What should you know before renting in Davidson County?

Metro Nashville and Davidson County merged in 1963. Belle Meade, Berry Hill, Forest Hills, Oak Hill, Goodlettsville and Ridgetop still keep some self-rule. If your job sits inside one of them, street use and building rules come from that city hall, not Metro. Tell us the exact address and we will flag it.

Metro event permits ask about restrooms

Metro's special event application has a section for portable restrooms. It asks for the contractor name, the number of units, and the number of accessible units. Applications must reach Metro at least 45 days before the event. Book your units first so you can fill in that section.

Street spots go through ePermits

Metro says every right-of-way permit must be filed through ePermits. Closing a lane or sidewalk for construction needs a closure permit. Closures longer than 7 days need a stamped traffic control plan. Setting a unit on your own driveway or lawn avoids all of this.

The 2010 flood marked the low ground

In May 2010, 13.57 inches of rain fell on Nashville in two days. The Cumberland, the Harpeth at Bellevue, Mill Creek at Antioch and Richland Creek all ran far above normal. On creek-side lots, we set units on the high side of the yard and away from drainage swales.

Historic overlays slow some start dates

Metro has eight historic preservation overlays and more than twenty conservation overlays, from Edgefield to Whitland. In those areas a preservation permit must be issued before a building permit. Crews often wait on that approval, so we hold the drop until you know your start day.

Metro parks need their own approval

Events in a Metro park need a Parks special events application. Staff-approved events need it at least two weeks ahead. Events with alcohol, amplified sound or fundraising go to the Park Board, which meets the first Tuesday of each month. Plan restroom counts into that paperwork.

Do you need a permit for a porta potty in Davidson County?

A unit on private property usually needs no permit. A unit on a street, sidewalk or in a Metro park can. NDOT handles right-of-way permits through ePermits, and Metro Parks handles park events. Inside Belle Meade, Berry Hill or the other small cities, ask that city hall. Rules change, so confirm with the office before your date.

Which porta potty fits a typical Davidson County job?

Across the county, standard units cover most home builds and remodels. Add a hand wash station when food is served. Pick a deluxe flushing unit or a restroom trailer for weddings in places like Belle Meade or Green Hills. For park events, add at least one wheelchair-accessible unit per cluster.

Example

infill home build in a Metro neighborhood

A builder tears down a 1950s ranch and frames two tall-skinny homes on the lot. One standard unit sits at the back of the driveway, clear of the dumpster. Weekly service keeps it stocked, and we move the service day if a concrete pour blocks the drive.

Example

church picnic at a Metro park shelter

A congregation reserves a picnic shelter for about 150 people over five hours. They take four standard units, one wheelchair-accessible unit and three hand wash stations for the food line. We drop Friday, they enjoy Saturday, and we pick up Monday.

Example

crew trailer at a commercial site

A 40-worker crew builds a mid-rise on a busy corridor. OSHA's table calls for at least one seat and one urinal per 40 workers. We recommend four standard units plus a hand wash station, serviced weekly, set inside the site fence.

Davidson County porta potty rental questions

Do you deliver to every ZIP code in Davidson County?

Every Davidson County ZIP is in our area, from 37013 Antioch to 37080 Joelton and 37221 Bellevue. Our trucks dispatch from 105 Murphy Ct in 37203. Call by noon for same-day delivery, or book by 5:00 PM for next-day at most addresses.

Do I need a Metro permit for a porta potty?

It depends on the spot. On your own lawn or driveway, a permit is usually not needed. On a street or sidewalk, NDOT requires a right-of-way permit filed through ePermits. In a Metro park, the event needs Parks approval. Confirm with the office before you book a street spot.

My address is in Belle Meade or Berry Hill. Does that change anything?

Those cities set their own rules. Belle Meade, for example, now requires portable restrooms on construction sites to sit behind a locked, green, opaque fence. Berry Hill has its own city hall and public works. Tell us the address and we will plan the placement to match.

How much does a porta potty cost in Davidson County?

A standard event unit for a Thursday or Friday to Monday weekend usually runs $175–$275 before tax, with delivery and pickup included. A long-term job-site unit usually runs $150–$225 per 28-day cycle with weekly service, plus a one-time delivery and pickup charge. Your itemized quote is final.

How many units do I need for a big Nashville event?

Start with guests times hours, divided by 200, and round up. A 300-guest, four-hour event needs six units. Add one more for every four if alcohol is served. Add hand wash stations if food is served and no sink is close.
