Porta Potty Rental FAQ

Every common question about renting a porta potty in Nashville, answered in plain English.

What do renters ask before booking a porta potty?

This page answers 40 real questions Nashville renters ask about porta potty rental: cost, same-day delivery, billing cycles, cleaning, unit sizes, placement, events and payment. Answers start with the fact. Pick a topic below or call (615) 237-6088 for anything not listed.

Cost and fees

What does an itemized porta potty quote include?

An itemized quote lists 5 things: the unit rental, delivery and pickup, any same-day rush fee, any extra service visits, and tax. Nothing is added after you agree. Card payment is taken at booking.

Is a porta potty rental priced by the day?

Event rentals are one flat price for the whole Thursday or Friday to Monday window. Long-term rentals are priced per 28-day cycle with weekly service. We don't rent by the hour or by the single day.

Is it cheaper to rent for one day instead of a weekend?

A one-day party and a full weekend cost the same, because the flat event price already covers drop-off, the event and Monday pickup. The extra days on site are free.

Does the delivery charge repeat every month?

Delivery and pickup on a long-term rental are charged once, on the first cycle. Later 28-day cycles bill only the rental with weekly service. That's why the first month costs more than the months after.

Do two porta potties cost twice as much as one?

Two units usually cost less than double, because one truck trip delivers both. Your quote shows the per-unit rental and a single delivery and pickup line.

Does distance change the price?

Distance is one of 5 price factors, along with unit type, dates, service frequency and quantity. Addresses near our Nashville yard cost the least to reach. Rural addresses far off our routes cost more.

Can a church, school or nonprofit avoid sales tax?

Tax-exempt groups send their Tennessee exemption certificate and we remove tax from the invoice. Approved organizations and businesses can also get invoices with net-30 terms.

How much is a porta potty for a month on a job site?

A standard job-site unit typically runs $150–$225 per 28-day cycle with weekly service, plus a one-time delivery and pickup charge of $50–$95, before tax. See the pricing guide for every unit type.

Delivery and timing

What is the cutoff for same-day porta potty delivery?

The cutoff is 12 noon. Call (615) 237-6088 before noon and dispatch fits you onto that day's routes. A same-day rush fee may apply and shows on the quote before you pay.

What time will the driver arrive?

Deliveries run between 7 AM and 7 PM. The driver calls about 30 minutes before arrival. You can ask for first stop of the day; we note it, though we can't promise an exact time.

How far ahead should I book for the Fourth of July or graduation weekend?

Book 2 to 3 weeks ahead for holiday weekends, graduations and peak wedding months in spring and fall. Flushing units and restroom trailers run out first. Standard units are easier to find on short notice.

Can you deliver to a property with no street address?

New lots, pastures and campsites are fine. Text us a map pin and a photo of the spot, plus any gate code. The driver uses the pin instead of a street address.

Can I pick up a porta potty with my own trailer?

We deliver and place every unit ourselves. Units are heavy, need to be set level and must be moved upright, so customer pickup isn't offered.

My other rental company didn't show. Can you still deliver today?

Same-day delivery is possible when you call by noon and a truck has room on that day's route. Have your address, unit count and placement spot ready, and we'll give you a yes or no in a few minutes.

Pickup and billing

How does the 28-day billing cycle work?

Long-term rentals bill every 28 days, with weekly service included. The cycle renews on its own until you call or text for pickup. Billing stops on the day you request pickup.

How much notice do you need for pickup?

A call or text 1 business day ahead is plenty. Tell us the date and confirm the path to the unit is clear. Event units are picked up Monday without any call.

What if my job runs longer than planned?

Nothing to do: the unit stays and the next 28-day cycle starts, with weekly service continuing. Call only when you want it gone.

Can I change the number of units after I book?

Units can be added or removed before delivery by calling dispatch. After delivery we can drop more units or pull extras on the next route day.

Cleaning and servicing

What happens during a weekly service visit?

The technician pumps out the waste tank, scrubs and sanitizes the seat, urinal, walls and floor, refills blue deodorizer, and restocks toilet paper and sanitizer. Sink units get fresh water, soap and towels.

Can I get service every other week to save money?

Low-use sites, such as a 1–3 person crew or a vacant lot, can ask for every-other-week service. Busy sites or more than 10 workers per unit should add a second weekly visit instead.

Will a porta potty smell?

A serviced unit has deodorizer in the tank and a vent stack that pulls air up and out. Smell builds with heavy use and heat, so shade placement and on-time service matter most in Nashville summers.

Do I need to clean the unit before pickup?

Pickup needs no cleaning from you. Just keep trash, paint, concrete and other debris out of the tank. Items like those can bring an extra cleaning charge.

What if the service truck can't reach the unit?

Keep a clear path on your route day. If a gate is locked or the path is blocked, the service is missed and we come back on the next route day or by request.

Units and features

What's inside a standard porta potty?

A standard unit has a toilet seat, a urinal, a toilet paper holder, a hand sanitizer dispenser, a vent stack and a translucent roof for daylight. The door has an inside latch with an occupied indicator.

How big is a porta potty? Will it fit through my gate?

Our standard unit is about 44 inches wide, 48 inches deep and 88 inches tall. It fits through a 48-inch gate on a dolly. Wheelchair-accessible units are wider, about 63–65 inches.

Can a porta potty be locked?

Every unit locks from the inside. An exterior padlock hasp is available on request, so you can lock it overnight on a job site or before an event starts.

Is a sink inside the unit better than a hand washing station?

A sink inside works for small events and crews. A separate two-sided station serves more people at once and keeps the line moving at food events. Many hosts use both.

Do restroom trailers need power and water?

A 2-station restroom trailer needs a standard 110V outlet on a dedicated 20-amp circuit or a generator, plus a garden-hose water hookup or an onboard tank fill. It also needs about 20 feet of level ground.

Placement and access

Can a porta potty go on grass?

Units sit fine on firm, level grass. The truck stays on pavement or gravel, so the spot should be within about 15 feet of where the truck parks or along a clear 48-inch path.

Can I move the porta potty after it's delivered?

Please don't move a full unit. Tipping it can spill waste. Call us and the driver can reposition it on the next visit.

Does the ground need to be level?

Level ground keeps the unit stable and the tank from leaking. A gentle slope can work with shims; a steep slope cannot. Tell us about slopes when you book.

What should I avoid when choosing a spot?

Stay off septic tank lids, sprinkler heads and buried lines. Leave clearance from low overhead wires for the truck. Our placement guide covers shade, privacy and lighting too.

Events, weddings and homes

Do I need a porta potty if guests can use my house bathroom?

One house bathroom handles a small gathering. Past about 30 guests, lines form and septic systems strain. One standard unit covers about 50 guests for 4 hours.

What if it rains on my event?

Units work fine in rain. If you need to cancel, it's free up to 48 hours before delivery; inside 48 hours the delivery fee is kept. Rescheduling is free when dates are open.

Can a homeowner rent a porta potty for a remodel?

Homeowners rent the same units contractors use. A driveway spot works well, and the unit keeps crews out of your house bathroom during a remodel or plumbing outage.

Do you rent porta potties for funerals and celebrations of life?

Units for funerals and family gatherings are delivered the day before, clean and stocked. Call by noon if the service is tomorrow.

Payment and terms

Do you take cash or checks?

We take Visa, Mastercard, Amex and Discover at booking. Approved business accounts can pay by invoice with net-30 terms. Drivers do not collect payment.

Is there a deposit?

There's no separate deposit. Booking means paying the rental shown on your itemized quote, or opening an approved business account.

Who pays if a porta potty is damaged?

The renter is responsible for loss or damage beyond normal use, such as fire, vandalism, graffiti or tipping. Ask for a padlock hasp on open job sites to cut that risk.

Can the invoice be in my company or church name?

Invoices can be issued in any business, church or organization name, with a second contact for the driver. Tell dispatch when you book.
